I've just got back from the movies where I saw new Harry Potter movie.

I didn't expect much, but I must say I was really surprised  at how good it is. I really love it, it's true to the book, and very exciting.

I decided to do my EOTD in Gryffindor colors. I hope you'll like it

I think I've found my favorite nail polish
It is Once Upon a Time from the new essence Fairytale collection. It's really beautiful red with gold glitter. I love it and I feel a bit girlie wearing it

That's it for today, I hope you like it

"And that's for grandma, who said I'd never amount to anything more than a butterknife!" - Lilacor, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn
I was so happy today when I looked through my window, and saw it's snowing outside

I love the first snow, it's so pure, soft and white

This is the photo I snapped off my balcony.

Today, I also wanted to review e.l.f. Plumping Lip Glaze Ruby kiss.
First, I applied one coat of the lip plumper, because I wanted to see if it has any plumping effect on my lips.
After an hour I took another picture to compare with one of my nude lips and another one of my lips with lip plumper that I took immediately after I applied it.

Lip plumper has a very strong menthol taste, and lips do feel tingly, but I must say I didn't notice any lip plumping effect. It's not sticky, and it is a really pretty, sheer lip gloss, but you will not have bigger lips.
Also, the menthol thing is pretty annoying. I managed to get some in my eyes (don't ask)

The colored part of Ruby kiss is a really nice red lip gloss, but it's not my favorite. It quickly wears off.

I'm not sorry that I bought it, because it's very cheap, but I would not buy it again.

"Snow! Ah, real snow. Proper snow at last!" - The Doctor, Doctor Who
Hello, everyone!

I hope you are having a very good day. My morning started something like this :

And I have a picture to prove it

This is my epic mega awesome coffee mug filled with delicious caffeine goodness (and 3dl glass of water next to it, for size comparison)
My deadline is getting very close so I need to be at the peak of concentration to manage it.
The only thing I didn't want to abandon for the sake of my thesis is nail polish
I know, I'm such a girl

Here you can see the updated glittery manicure from the last post. I added one more layer of Twinkle and Golden Goddess. I really love all the sparkles

I really love all of that glittering

Today I have something else I want to show you.

Catrice Glamourama LE finally arrived at my drugstore, and I bought Mirror, Mirror eyeshadow, Glamourista  lip cream and Times Square at Midnight nail polish.

Times Square at Midnight is a gorgeous strong purple with a hint of blue and red shimmer.

You can see the shimmer at the pictures below (picture of the bottle).

I had some trouble with this nail polish as it tends to photograph darker than it really is, but I think I got it in the end

A slightly blurry picture, but here you can see the shimmer.

Do you like this nail polish? Will you buy something from this collection?

It's October which means it's soon going to be Halloween time

I really like to play with make-up and reinvent myself with new looks so I posted three looks you could do for your Halloween party. I also did the Snow White look, but at this point I'm not really comfortable with posting my whole face unmasked. Also, Snow White is basically a pin-up with very dark eyebrows, alabaster skin and red headband with a bow. You could also take a red apple as a prop .

Dark fae

I used essence Denim wanted gel liner, Catrice Carame Spiced Red eyeshadow and essence liquid eyeliner with glitter. For contouring around my nose, I used black eyeshadow.

Poison Ivy

I used essence green and blue eyeshadows and MAC pigment (primary yellow). It is a very simple and very cool look. I used an angle liner brush to create lines.

These lines are a bit messy, but at this point I didn't have the right brusher to pull this one off as I wanted it to be.

Thane Krios

This blog is called Make-up and geekery. Until now, you haven't seen the geek part. Well, this is it! Make-up and geekery combined !

I love love LOVE Mass Effect franchise. ME2 is one of my favorite video games ever ( others are SW:KotOR and Baldur's Gate 2 ).

Thane Krios is a drell assassin. Drell are reptile-like humanoids whose skin, according to Mordin Solus, is an irritant and can have hallucinogenic properties in case of oral contact.

I tried to recreate Thane's face scales and his red "gills".

Drell have really strange black eyeballs with corneas which are one shade lighter then the rest of the eye. I tried to recreate that by painting my eyelid black and putting one spot of white eyeshadow and black dot in the middle. You can really see it if you zoom out.

I hope you like it

My first e.l.f. order arrived yesterday and I love it! I ordered Smokey Eye mineral eyeshadow set, mineral blush in color Bliss, and Matte Finisher clear nail polish.

I ordered eyeshadow set mainly to take advantage of 20% off minerals facebook promotion and I'm very glad I did, because pigment colors are amazing. I particularly like Socialite (the middle one).

I will do swatches of the pigments soon, they are just amazing.

"And now we have a dog. And Alistair is still the stupidest member of the party."
Morrigan, Dragon Age: Origins

I usually like to use darker eyeshadow colors but I chose to use this natural look for the blog opener because I really like how it turned out. I used fingers for blending because I'm waiting for my e.l.f. brushes to arrive.

I used Deborah Hi-Tech Trio Eye Shadow (Hot Temptation), essence Denim Wanted gel eyeliner (Vintage style), Max Factor False lash effect and essence eyebrow stylist set.
